Rediscovery
REDISCOVERING CURIOSITY AND WONDER
How is it that the excitement, spirit of adventure and boundless energy most of us had as a child somehow seems to wane as we grow older? How did we get so serious? Responsibilities? Culture? Work? Perhaps it is a combination of factors. The question is,
how do we get it back?
We even get locked into believing that work and family responsibilities or how we felt when we were younger prohibit us from experiencing joy and wonder today. The truth is there are countless ways to turn the seemingly mundane routine of our lives into an experience of adventure and curiosity. Sometimes we get so accustomed to conforming to the norm that we dare not be playful or act “whacky” or be outrageous for fear of not being taken
seriously.
On this journey we are going to demonstrate ways you can get more enjoyment out of life and we’ll be giving you some challenges along the way. I can tend to be on the serious side myself so I will be taking the journey right along with you. The things we will be talking about don’t require money. Here is an example from my own life.
Some years ago I decided to be Mrs. Claus at our local library. I didn’t plan it but before I knew it I had a Mrs. Claus business, appearing at various places in the area where I lived. (And I got paid for it!) I had so much fun that by the time an engagement was over I half believed I was Mrs. Claus. And oh, the love I received from the children was unbelievable. I got to enter the magical world of children. And it all started with just one small volunteer act to be Mrs. Claus at the local library.
Sometimes it takes a little risk taking and creativity. Getting out of our mundane yet safe routine can be challenging but the rewards are enormous. And every time you do something new it motivates you to do more. Sometimes we just need a little push, some ideas and suggestions and that is precisely what We Are The Light is intended to do. We will be working in a number of ways to uncover more of the light that is already inside you – through storytelling, music, inspirational ideas and journaling.
